JR is known for his beautiful large scale works around the globe, while Liu Bolin is known for making himself disappear or make invisible on interesting backgrounds.

    Los Angeles, April 5, 2012 - Acclaimed Los Angeles artist Deedee Cheriel is the latest rising painter to be commissioned by the Downtown Standard Hotel as part of their 6th Street Mural program. Cheriel's bright and playful work is already creating an undeniable buzz on the downtown street with its vibrant colors and signature imagery of animal people speaking repetitive patterns. The project is part is an ongoing effort by the celebrated hotel to interact with the city's thriving artistic community. The Mural is up until May 1, 2012.

    Growing up skateboarding and playing in bands in the Pacific Northwest, Deedee Cheriel’s iconic work is both graphic and painterly and borrows from her Indian heritage.  Deedee began making art in the skateboarding and music scenes of the Pacific Northwest.  She has shown in the UK, Australia, extensively in the US, and lives and works in Los Angeles.
